Edna Earl
“It brings such purpose to my life in knowing that we have a caring staff, growing in knowledge and open to new ideas, who offer a valuable service to our community. When we do our comfort calls at the end of each day, I can hear the joy emanating from our patients’ hearts and know that we are making an extreme difference in their lives.”
The seed of caring was planted in Edna Earl as a child growing up in Norfolk, Virginia, in a nurturing family that shared their gift of compassion with the neighborhood.
A veteran of over 30 years in the field, Edna Earl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Norfolk State University. She also received the Distinguished Nurse Alumni Award from the Norfolk State University’s Department of Nursing. In addition, she served as an adjunct clinical instructor.

Through her work, Edna embodies the core values of the agency – integrity, respect, commitment, service excellence, teamwork, and innovation.
In her spare time, Edna enjoys going to the movies with friends, reading, cooking, watching birds, dining out, playing chess and spending time with family. Her daughter is a Registered Nurse, and has blessed Edna with a loving son-in-law and two grandsons. Edna has been a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, Bute Street for over thirty years and serves as a Sunday School teacher for the Dorcas Class.
